Construction/Zoning Permit Application
A construction permit or a zoning permit is required prior to most construction projects. Most new structures, additions, decks, pools, patios, signs, alterations, renovations and similar work will require either a zoning permit, a construction permit, or both. The permit application below may be used for either permit. This is a general use permit application, so all fields may not apply to your particular project.
Residential Health & Safety Certificate of Occupancy Application
A certificate of occupancy is required prior to the resale or rental of any single family dwelling or residential dwelling unit by the Borough Residential Health & Safety Ordinance.
Commercial Zoning Certificate of Use & Occupancy Application (download application)
Application to Claim Pre-Existing Nonconforming Use (download application)
A Zoning Certificate of Use & Occupancy is required prior to any new commercial occupancy of any structure. If the new occupancy wishes to claim an exemption from the zoning use restrictions as pre-existing nonconforming, then a nonconforming application is also required. Finally, if the new occupancy is of a different use-group, then a construction permit is also required. (e.g. A restaurant moving into a space that was previously an office, etc.)
Landlord Occupancy Report Form
All landlords are required to file an occupancy report whenever a new tenant occupies a space owned by the landlord. They are also required to file an occupancy report annually, on or before January 31st.
Overhead Banners require Borough approval, and PennDOT approval when spanning Rt. 322 or Rt. 10. This application may be used for both approvals.
Shed Zoning Permit Application
A zoning permit is required prior to the placement of any shed. Residential sheds typically only require a zoning permit. A construction permit may be required if the shed is a commercial shed, or if the shed exceeds 1000 square feet. Also, a construction (electrical) permit is required to run electrical service to any shed. (download application)
Please direct all questions regarding Construction Permits, Zoning Permits, Residential Health & Safety COs, and Zoning U&Os to the Zoning & Code Enforcement Officer: Harry Weaver.
